On The Verge: 4 New Country Releases

As every Friday passes, numerous songs come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.

1. "Worst In Me" by Avery Anna

Anna has released another breathtaking song, proving why she is becoming a voice for her generation. She has a unique ability to put into words what so many young people feel and deal with. Time and time again, her poetic lyrics are brutally honest. This song in particular speaks to a toxic situation some have probably found themselves in. Anna's voice only enhances the deeper message.

2. "Cue Country Roads" by Charles Wesley Godwin

Godwin released four new songs as well as announcing a new album due in September. The singer-songwriter is gaining quite a following as his songs feel different from the contemporary country that's out now. His music feels like it was recorded in a remote spot in the mountains, allowing for emotive lyrics to take hold. This song especially captures Godwin's roots and his style.

3. "Shakin' In My Boots" by MaRynn Taylor

Taylor's new song is energetic and instantly catchy. While toeing the line of country-pop, she sings about feeling so enamored with someone it's hard not to feel what she's feeling. The track was produced by Josh Kerr who has worked on hit songs with Kelsea Ballerini, Jordan Davis, Russell Dickerson, Maddie & Tae, and many more. Taylor is one of the newcomers that everyone should keep an eye on.

4. "One That Got Away" by Parker Graye

On this new release, Graye sings about what it feels like to still wonder about an ex. It feels so raw and honest that it will leave an impact after a singular listen. The tempo picks up by the end of the chorus, feeling like it might belong in a movie about young love. Many people still think about someone they used to be with. Graye delivers the perfect song to help anyone get through it.
