We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "Neon Grave" by Tyler Braden
Braden released his brand new song as he currently tours with Mitchell Tenpenny. The track evokes feelings of angst and intrigue. His voice soars right to the heart of anyone who listens. The song seems to be inspired by the Southern rock style of country music. It's exciting to listen to and will make anyone crave more from the singer.
2. "Dammit" by Alexandra Kay
Kay delivers her own version of the song first made famous by the rock group Blink-182. Her soulful vocals radiate all throughout the track as she adds her own spin. She adds an acoustic feel that makes it more personal. Taking a slower and sifter approach allows for the lyrics to really resonate with listeners.
3. "Record High" by Dylan Marlowe
Marlowe is certainly on track to make quite the name for himself in country music. Having recently signed a record deal, the young talent released his new song at just the right time. His sound and style represent country music to a T. This song in particular highlights the range of emotions that come with seeing a lover walk away.
4. "Who Are You Mad At" by Jordyn Shellhart
This song is bound to make anyone stop and think. The instrumentals found in the beginning can hook anyone in. She sings about wanting to uncover the reasons behind someone's broken heart. It's a thought-provoking and reflective song that carries a singer-songwriter type of style. It'll leave people wanting more from Shellhart.
5. "Gettin' There" by Andrew Jannakos
Jannakos has a voice as smooth as can be, and that is enhanced by his new release. The vulnerable and relatable song is about being on a path of growth. Everyone has hills they have to climb on the road to success, or even to be a better person. He sings about enjoying the ride and understanding he'll soon get to where he wants to be.
