Arista Nashville singer-songwriter, Ryan Hurd, was bound for success right from the start. He began his career in Nashville as a songwriter, penning music for some of the best superstars in the genre. Platinum hits and No. 1s like Blake Shelton’s “Lonely Tonight,” Luke Bryan’s “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset,” and Lady A’s “What If I Never Get Over You” and “You Look Good,” are all songs Hurd claims co-writing credits on. Since then, the rising country powerhouse has proved himself to be not only a great songwriter but an incredible singer too.
Following his most recent releases like “Coast” and his radio hit “Chasing After You” that’s been making its way up the chart, Hurd released a new track titled “June, July, August” last Friday. As summer is coming to an end, this new song is a perfect way to help keep special summer moments and memories alive. “I hope that when you hear this song ‘June, July, August’ that your summer never ends.”
Hurd wrote this song with the same two guys he wrote Luke Bryan’s songs with and thought it was the right timing to keep one for himself. “I just think this song says endless summer better than any of the other ones I’ve written. So I hope you all love it.” With his voice so calm and soothing, if you close your eyes listening to this track, you can picture exactly what the lyrics portray.
“When we were young and drunk by the water / Kept that sunburnt love gettin’ hotter / And that feelin’ never faded like the tan lines on your skin / I’d do June, July, and August a thousand times again, yeah, mmm, yeah / Can it be summer forever? / Does love get any better / Than those 3 months together?”
“June, July, August” is one of the 15 songs on Hurd’s upcoming debut album, Pelago, being released on October 15th.
