Canadian country music singer-songwriter Alee has released her new single “Twenty Four.” The release marks her first-ever track of 2022.
After being nominated for Rising Star at the CCMAs, receiving 3.5 million streams for her first full-length album Bad Habits on Spotify alone, and being nominated for CCMA female artist of the year in 2017, it's clear Alee has had a hold on Canadian country music fans; and she's currently making moves to capture more hearts as she grows as an artist.
In an Instagram post promoting her just-released track, "Twenty-Four" she shared, “This one felt really special from the start...can't wait for u to hear it." Alee has created a tune that a huge population can relate to people who may feel like they're running out of time. In the chorus, she exclaims lines that feel like a diary entry, “Friends are getting married, feel like you're already out the door / Somewhere between having what you need and wanting more / That's just twenty-four, don't be too hard on twenty-four.”

The message feels extremely current and almost empathetic as social media consumption has become a creator of comparison, and Alee gives a reassuring message to her fans and followers. The lyrics are relatable and true to the ups and downs that come with being in your early 20s, but Alee still maintains a fresh and upbeat instrumental to pair with the vivid, vulnerable lyricism.
The track is a true depiction of how not everyone has to have life figured out when everyone else does. Take it slow, enjoy the ride, and just be Twenty-four.
