Singer Anne Wilson is a Lexington, Kentucky native creating her own path in Music City. The singer-songwriter creates a sound that blends contemporary Christian music with country music. In 2021, she made her debut with the song "My Jesus" which went on to go number one on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart. In June of 2023, she dropped her latest single "Seventh Of June" which details the day she lost her brother in a car accident. The rising act sat down with The Nash News to share some of her favorite tunes from growing up.
1. "Seminole Wind" by John Anderson
This John Anderson track was a song Wilson would listen to while driving in the car with her brother while growing up in Kentucky. Wilson's brother ended up passing away in a car accident in 2017."Having that memory to look back on with him is really, really special," she notes.
2. "How Great Is Our God" by Chris Tomlin
This is another song Wilson would listen to in the car when she would turn on Christian radio stations. "That's kind of where I found my faith in those moments," Wilson shares.
3. "Call On Jesus" by Nicole C Mullen
Wilson remembers her mom being obsessed with this track which, in turn, had a big effect on her as a kid. "That song meant a lot to her and meant a lot to me because of that," she explains

Emotions are complex, and sometimes words fail to capture the depth of what we feel. Music fills this gap. A melancholy melody can express grief better than a thousand sentences. A joyful chorus can encapsulate euphoria in ways that pure language cannot. Songs are our emotional translators, giving voice to feelings that might otherwise remain unspoken.
