Ashley Cooke "Getting Into" Song Review

Lesley Janes

Ashley Cooke has released her new single "Getting Into." After teasing its release and performing the song live recently, it has proved to be well worth the wait.

Cooke has been named to several watch lists within the industry. The debut project Already Drank That Beer came out this year and received wild praise. Her recent stint on The Bachelorette also garnered much attention. She performed alongside Brett Young to sing their duet "Never Til Now." The sweet love song was a match made in heaven for the ABC show.

On this track, Cooke clearly states that someone should know what they are "Getting Into" with her. Her vocals feel as natural as the words she sings. Complete with a melody that will remain inside one's head, it's hard not to love this song. "Before you get into my car, into my bed, into my heart, my head / Know what you're getting into."

The song is full of honest confessions about what many don't realize when getting into a relationship. People, especially women, often worry that they might have too much "baggage" for someone to handle. Cooke is able to put all of the worries that come with falling in love into a song for many to relate to.
