Ashley McBryde "The Devil I Know" Song Review

Country artist Ashley McBryde released her latest single, “The Devil I Know,” on April 7th, 2023. McBryde continues to become more of a staple in the country music scene, always adding to her impressive discography. McBryde is most known for her hits like, “One Night Standard” and “Never Wanted to be That Girl” with Carly Pearce.

“The Devil I Know” is McBryde’s second release of the year, following “Leave the Light On in the Kitchen.” In her latest release, the Arkansas native infuses some rock and roll influence. The track leans heavily on a grungy electric guitar and punk-rock melody. This addition shows that McBryde is not afraid to take on any task.

MBryde’s talent for writing shines through in this instant country-rock classic. McBryde exclaims, “Everybody’s got something to say / About how I gotta change my ways / Well I got something to say of my own / Hell there’s hell everywhere I go / So I'm sticking with the Devil I know.” McBryde continues to set herself apart as one of the all-time great songwriters and country musicians, giving fans an endless stream of well-made music.
