Ashley Ryan "Hush Little Baby (Acoustic)" Song Review

Rising singer-songwriter Ashley Ryan has released the acoustic version of her song "Hush Little Baby." This reimagined track sounds like what lullaby dreams are made of, with a bit of a twist.

Ryan hails from California where she discovered her love of writing and singing. She moved to Nashville in 2018 where she has since performed at iconic venues like Whiskey Jam, The Bluebird Cafe, and the Listening Room. Her music comes from the heart as she writes about experiences many can relate to. "One Tractor Mind" and "Too Far Gone" are a couple of her most recent releases. As she enjoys connecting with listeners on social media, she is building a base of fans that are loving what she's putting out.

"Hush Little Baby (Acoustic)" opens like an old-fashioned country tune. Ryan's fire and sass are quickly revealed with the line, "Hush little baby don't you cry / Your mama's got a twelve gauge held up high / And if that boy ever breaks your heart / I'll send him where the moon meets and kisses the stars." The murder ballad stands out as acoustically as it did in its original release. Stripped down, Ryan's voice truly captures attention. The message is meant to bring a fresh perspective while paying tribute to the famous nursery rhyme. It's a great song to further introduce this rising talent.
