Austin Burke "Crazy, Crazy" Song Review

Sampling from Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” is a surefire way to make a standout track, and Austin Burke’s new song is just that. “Crazy, Crazy," the young artist’s newest release, is the perfect love song leading us into the warmer season.

In addition to the beginning of the song sampling Patsy Cline, “Crazy, Crazy” has fascinating instrumentation. The classic country sound comes through the electric guitar and twang-filled vocals that start the song, but it’s eventually mixed with contemporary electronic beats. It’s an interesting way to keep the listener’s attention and defy expectations.

While his instrumentation challenges the classic sounds of country, his lyrics balance this out by using the quintessential themes of the genre. Lines like, “I’ve been staying in drinking, overthinking / Hoping that my phone starts ringing” not only meet the country music criteria but also help convey the feelings of love and longing weaved throughout the track.
