Ava Paige "Gentleman Jack" Song Review
Rising singer-songwriter Ava Paige has delivered another example of why she is an artist to watch. She released her latest single "Gentleman Jack," and it will surely leave an impression on anyone who hears it.
Paige may only be 18 years old, but do not let the age fool you. She's been writing her own music since she was even younger and taking guitar lessons for years. Paige has come away with several music industry awards, including being named Best Singer/Songwriter in the 2019 Nashville Scene Readers Poll. She has been playing live shows in Nashville for many years and had her first standing gig at The George Jones when she was just 13 years old.
"Gentleman Jack" is Paige's eighth release of 2022. She co-wrote the ballad personifying Jack Daniels whiskey alongside SJ McDonald and Kelli Johnson. This track is sung from the perspective of a woman who has seen a man drink long after he should. Paige sings about the ways Jack can impact someone's life. "By the first round, he starts slipping / A couple more down and he's got no limits / His quiet voice starts getting loud / Then fighting words come pouring out."
This track is as mesmerizing as a country song could and should be. Paige elongates every lyric and verse so that the emotion can truly connect to listeners. Her voice adds to the song since no soft voice could deliver a song such as this one. This song is as fine a country song as any other one could be.
