At only 30 years old, Ben Gallaher is asserting his sound in the country music industry, and it’s helping to build his career. His newest single, “Still A Few Cowboys Left,” has a country-rock sound reminiscent of Morgan Wallen, while still having a unique flair.
He takes an autobiographical approach to most of his music, but this song has a more nuanced sense of perspective than his other works. He acknowledges the connections between the past and the future in a poetic manner, “Sounds like 1889 / Listening to the coyote cry / Somewhere under that moon tonight / There’s still a few cowboys left.”
Like Gallaher, this song is rugged and presents a true country style. He sings descriptive lyrics with tangible and easily imagined imagery. Lines like “Checking gates and stretching barbwire / And after all the holes are mended / He lays his head back on his saddle by the fire" prove his mastery of songwriting.

This is Gallaher’s first single since his recent EP, Every Small Town, and it just demonstrates how determined he is to present his musical strengths to the world. Gallaher is currently on his first tour throughout the midwest and beyond.
