Blake Shelton “We Can Reach The Stars” Song Review

No one does romance better than Blake Shelton, and he just further proves it in the new love ballad, “We Can Reach The Stars.” Following the release of his single “Come Back As A Country Boy,” Shelton anticipates the release of Body Language (Deluxe) on December 3rd.

From coaching on the Emmy-award-winning show The Voice to headlining his ‘Friends and Heroes’ tour, and now writing a timeless love ballad with the help of Craig Wiseman, what is there that Blake Shelton can’t do? “We Can Reach The Stars” captivates listeners with romantic lyrics that hold more weight than we can even imagine.

“Who are we to question God and his greater plan / You and me are a blessin’ / And all we gotta do is say amen, amen / I know we can reach the stars / That’s how far my love will go for you / I know we can reach the stars / You’ve already hung the moon.”

The emotionally charged tune served as the country superstar’s wedding vows to wife, Gwen Stefani, over the summer. “You know, Gwen’s always given me a hard time about not writing enough songs — so, I wrote a song.” Vulnerable but not too personal, Shelton nails it when it comes to dedicated fans and casual listeners, giving everyone a taste of something they can cry their heart out too, and also use in their own wedding (which I won’t be surprised when I hear it as friends are walking down the aisle). A friend of the couple, Carson Daly, revealed, “There was not a dry eye in the house, and that was really the highlight.”

Shelton describes his life with Stefani through the song as a “me-and-you world,” solidifying his wedding vows meant for her, but also giving us listeners all a bit of heartache. Shelton’s new release is intimate with universal metaphors that describe love in a unique and heartfelt way that listeners will remember. “We Can Reach The Stars” acts as the last track on the album set to be released on December 3rd. The deluxe version of the record also includes collaborations with Hardy, Brooks & Dunn, and other hit singles audiences already know and love.
