Brian Kelley "Florida Strong" Song Review
Brian Kelley has released a new song that comes from his heart. The special track titled "Florida Strong" aims to benefit the Florida Disaster Fund from the horrific hurricanes that have touched Kelley's home state.
This isn't the first time Kelley has used his musical talent for good. "American Spirit" was released in honor of Kelley's family members who served in the United States military. He wanted to create a track that showed his appreciation for all who served. Now, Kelley wants to help his native Florida. "I was raised to know that everyone in Florida are neighbors and we help when, and however we can. I remember sitting at home in the panhandle a couple days after Ian came through Florida, praying for recovery and wanting to help. I was sitting at our kitchen table next thing I knew a song fell out," wrote Kelley on Instagram.
"Florida Strong" is as inspirational as Kelley set out to make. As the singer said himself, it's undeniable he wrote it in the wake of the disaster. The track's opening lyrics embody the shock and awe most people had while seeing the destruction on TV. "Well I come from the 386, so I've seen my share of storms and wind / But now I've seen it blow like it ain't ever blown before."
By the time the chorus sound, the lyrics capture the spirit Floridians have had to rebuild their communities. "I know sometimes it's just easier to give up / Tough don't describe what we're made of / 'Cause we are Florida Strong / The kind that won't ever back down when it all goes wrong / We'll find a way to turn it all around."
