Carter Faith "Wild" Song Review

Rising singer-songwriter Carter Faith has managed to encapsulate perfectly the spacey, western, and dreamy elements of pop-country in her blossoming sound. Following her 2022 ballad "Already Crazy" is her first release of 2023, titled "Wild." With every release, Faith seems to build upon her growing soundscape.

"Wild" begins with dark, echoing twangs from a guitar and sprinkles of drum beats. Faith immediately sets the scene by exclaiming, "I was born in the heat / Dancing out in the weeds / Like a wildflower." Faith seems to describe how her gypsy heart was stolen as she enters into the catchy chorus when she shouts, "Loving you is wild."

Each time Faith sings the word "Wild" her vocals build with intensity; despite the word continuously repeating, Faith keeps it fresh. The growing instrumental packed behind her only helps emphasize the enthralling relationship she finds herself in. Listening closely, one can also hear Faith's layered vocals that blissfully harmonize with the main vocal.

In the detailed lyricism, Faith describes this newfound fling as"wildfire" and compares it to "wild horses" creating an almost movie-like description for her audience. When the bridge strikes, the track fills up with a darker haze. She sings, "Ask me what I got / I'll tell you all my thoughts / Hell, they're wild / Nothing to untangle, cards out on the table / They're wild."

The bouncy piano that was first introduced in the second verse, leads listeners out of the daydream of a tune creating a flirty, and fun ending.
