Chancey Williams "It Ain't You" Song Review
Chancey Williams has a new song that country music fans will surely love. "It Ain't You" is inspired by a cowboy's desire for love, a story that is known all too well in a genre about love and loss.
Williams happens to be a saddle-bronc star from Wyoming. He grew up on a ranch and excelled at wrestling and academics, which is what brought him to Casper College and then to the University of Wyoming. He earned several degrees, including a Master’s in Public Administration. His love of music is what ultimately won out. The travel associated with rodeo can be similar to touring and playing shows. Williams fit in seamlessly with his talent. He was named iHeartRadio’s 2022 Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year. His 2023 tour includes a debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry, his first headlining appearance at Billy Bob’s Texas, and shows in support of his new Album, One of These Days.
"It Ain't You" comes from the heart of a drifter. The up-tempo groove of the song distracts from the underlying message. It's evident Williams didn't want this to be a somber ballad. His voice soars through every line he sings. "I know you love me girl, but it ain't you / It's me that's always making this thing harder / It's me who loves you so much girl it hurts / It ain't you, it ain't you / That has someone too good to lose." It's the kind of track that makes fans excited to see what comes next.
