Country Music Icon Loretta Lynn Has Passed Away

To many, Loretta Lynn was the image of country music. The singer's family announced to The Associated Press she died peacefully at her beloved home in Hurricane Mills on Tuesday. She was 90.

Known forever as the "Coal Miner's Daughter," Lynn became a trailblazer for women in country music. Lynn once told Jenna Bush Hager in 2018, "I write about my life - in every song I've written." Lynn would rise to fame as a singer-songwriter who could touch the lives of everyone who listened. She will be deeply missed in the country music community, and around the world.
