Country Jam USA 2022 Day 2 Recap

The Nash News kicked off day two of Country Jam USA in Eau Claire, Wisconsin exploring the campsites. We interviewed eager festival-goers and played games in front of people's trailers.

The music began with Chris Kroeze, who is a Wisconsin native and placed second in season 15 of The Voice. His vocals were pristine as they paralleled the energetic red electric guitar he played. The highlight of his set was when he closed with his home-y nostalgic track "Sumer Song," perfect for the festival setting.

Rising artist Elvie Shane was in the next slot of the day. He did a wonderful job interacting with and entertaining the crowd. He told stories before each song and the biggest moment came when he performed his emotional hit "My Boy" which resonated with people everywhere.

The Nash News' VP Christina got to interview Jimmie Allen before his set where he talked about his meteoric rise over the past couple of years and his most recent album Tulip Drive which features collaborations from Jennifer Lopez, T-Pain, CeeLo Green, Aadyn, and Katie Ohh.

When Jimmie Allen took the stage he performed in bedazzled jeans and a black vest paired with a gold microphone. He sang his latest single "down home" with an acoustic guitar and sweet, smooth vocals. He concluded his set with the number one radio hit "Freedom Was A Highway." He started it off with a vibey intro and as the song inched towards the end, he ran through the crowd to give high waves.

The headliner on day 2 was country quartet Little Big Town. The group had just released a new track titled "Rich Man" the day of their performance. Christina got to talk with the band about how the new song came together and the journey of making their upcoming release Mr. Sun which is slated for a September 16 release.

On stage, the group was electric. They kicked off their set with "Pontoon" and throughout, they slowed things down when they brought out hits like "Better Man" and "Girl Crush." They also pumped up the audience with big jams like "Wine, Beer, Whiskey" and "Little White Church." Day 2 closed with the band's biggest smash, "Boondocks," sending the crowd away with positive, fun energy.
