Country Music at the 2022 Grammy Awards
The highly anticipated and well-awaited 64th Annual Grammy Awards finally took place on April 3rd, 2022 since being rescheduled due to the Omicron variant earlier this year. In the mix of all-genre performers, there were quite a few from the country music genre. Check these out:
1. Chris Stapleton
The man, the myth, the legend and the man of the night, some would say, went home well decorated in awards. Stapleton strummed away at an electrifying guitar solo in his chilling performance with his song “Cold,” which was awarded Best Country Song. He also won the awards for Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance.
2. Brothers Osborne
The sibling duo went home emotional and in a state of graciousness for winning Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their song “Younger Me." They also closed out the show with a performance of their track "Dead Man's Curve."
3. Brandi Carlile
The favorited star kept her run of Grammy Awards performances fresh with her performance of her song “Right on Time." She chose to give a new spin and delivery of the song dressed in a sequin jacket starting seater at the piano. She also made history by being the first woman ever to be nominated for two Song of the Year awards.
4. Carrie Underwood
The always loved and respected woman of country herself took home a Grammy for Best Roots Gospel Album with My Savior. She was also nominated with Jason Aldean in the Country Duo/Group Performance category. She appeared during the main ceremony with a performance of her new song “Ghost Story” on the Grammys stage.
