Welcome back to our series called Day Drinking, where I taste test different alcohols made by country music stars. The third in this series is Little Big Town’s canned wine, Day Drinking.
Little Big Town sure knows how to make a good time fit into a can. According to their website, these drinks are “ideal to pair with friends, family, and good times.” The name of their wine comes from their hit song, “Day Drinking." The lyrics capture the taste of the canned wine perfectly: “Don't wanna wait 'til the sun's sinking / We could be feeling alright / I know you know what I'm thinking / Why don't we do a little day drinking?”
There are 5 different flavors of the canned wine: Pontoon Punch, Black Cherry, Watermelon Rosé, Rosé Bubbles, and Southern Peach. I tried the Rosé Bubbles and Southern Peach. Here are my thoughts:
I absolutely love wine, but I find it hard to travel with. If I want to go to the pool or beach, I can’t bring a glass bottle. Little Big Town has changed the game. Now, I can take my wine anywhere without worrying about the clinking of glass bottles. First, I tried the Rosé Bubbles. If you like very sweet rosé, this one’s for you. The notes of berries mix well with the carbonated taste of sweet wine. After I had my sweet fill, I tried the Southern Peach. As a southerner and a peach lover, I had to see if this lived up to its name. I can safely say that this is a real southern peach flavored drink. The notes of ripe peach mix well with the crisp, refreshing taste. I quickly learned that one of these 375 ml cans equals two 6.3 oz glasses of wine, so be careful with this 12% drink. Nevertheless, I can guarantee that these drinks will be in my beach bag this summer.
