Dierks Bentley feat. Ashley McBryde "Cowboy Boots" Song Review

When two superstars team up for a song, it's always a welcomed surprise. Dierks Bentley and Ashley McBryde have found perfect harmony on Bentley's new track, "Cowboy Boots."

Bentley and McBryde have become highly respected, and favorite's of country fans, for years now. His upcoming 10th album Gravel And Gold is also highly anticipated. "The 10th album landmark speaks to how time has flown in Bentley’s unique, 21st-century career. He landed his first publishing deal in 2001 and released his debut album in 2003, producing an instant No. One single. The years since have revealed a rare consistency that’s fueled longevity," per a press release.

"Cowboy Boots" is more than a song about a pair of boots. The shoes represent the drifter and the dreamer that surrounds the lore of a cowboy. "Don't be surprised, they got a warning in their name / And the one that's got 'em on can't take all the blame / They got a reckless reputation that they always live up to / That's why they call 'em cowboy boots." The themes of a cowboy have long been played out in this genre, but Bentley's version takes on a new perspective.

The inclusion of McBryde feels only natural. For a song that has an effortless style, McBryde adds her signature touch. This track can easily strike a chord with anyone who has loved and lost in their life. It feels like a drive back to a familiar place and echoes the message of how we are all just searching for a place to call home. One thing is for certain after listening to this song: country music is lucky to have Bentley and McBryde.
