Easton Corbin "Marry That Girl" Song Review

Updated: Mar 14, 2022

Easton Corbin has just released his latest single, “Marry That Girl,” on Thursday, March 3rd. Later that night, he performed it on Fox’s hit TV show Joe Millionaire.

Since his debut single “A Little More Country Than That” hit the top of charts in 2010, Corbin has remained a major artist in the country world. He has opened for country stars like Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, and Brad Paisley. To date, Corbin has 2 No.1 singles, 7 top 10 singles, and over 350 million streams on Spotify alone.

“Marry That Girl” is a sweet love song, detailing early captivation. When he first meets the woman, they dance the night away. From that one night, he knows that she is the one he is going to spend the rest of his life with. The lyrics of the chorus clearly assert how sure he is of his decision.

“I’m gonna change her name but she don’t know it / She’s what I’ve been praying someday God would send / I ain’t never been the same since we first met / I’m gonna marry that girl.”

Whether he talks about this love interest to his best friends or receives warnings about moving too quickly from his mother, he knows for certain that the woman will stay. He plans to “pick the perfect ring” and “the perfect time” to get down on one knee and propose. The conviction in Corbin’s voice adds sincerity to this romantic song as he imagines their future.
