Five Songwriter Festivals in the US

Taking place the last weekend in March, there is still time to experience this songwriter festival located in Nashville, Tennessee. With this year marking the thirtieth anniversary of this event, many venues have decided to partake in hosting the hundreds of talented artists traveling to perform. Some of these venues include The Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room Cafe, and also the Crossed-Eyed Critters. It is important to also give praise to the Nashville Songwriters Association International for producing this event yet another year. Make sure to check out their poster this year too that was uniquely designed by Charlie Hartrich, a freshman at the local Watkins College of Art at Belmont University!

With more than 175 artists, 225 performances, and 30 different venues, the 30A Songwriters Festival is not one to miss. Taking place in South Walton Florida midway through January every year, fans from across the nation gather to hear their favorite songwriters perform work both new and old. Some of the artists that traveled to perform at the festival this previous year included Brothers of a Feather, Emmylou Harris, and Mavis Staples. While the festival may have already passed, there is certain to be yet another production of this festival in 2023!

This year, the Key West Songwriters Festival will be celebrating this twenty-sixth year of live music and good times. Taking place the first weekend in May, it is without a doubt that this festival’s lineup includes some of the largest names in country music. In years past artists including Florida Georgia Line, Walker Hayes, and Brad Paisley had all been some of the names included in the lineups. Though the lineup for this year is not set to be released until March, one could assume just how impressive it is expected to be. With the festival also taking place in Key West, Florida, there is nothing less to expect than sunshines and good times that could come when attending!

This upcoming August, experience songwriters perform their music while among the Smoky Mountains. With performances from artists such as Jerry Salley, Danny Wells, and Chris Wallin, individuals are able to enjoy the bluegrass melody that was a part in creating some of their favorite songs they have heard on the radio or in their playlists. With seven stages varying in size, it is easy to find an artist at any time during the day that you will enjoy amongst fellow music lovers. While the lineup for this year is still in the works, make sure to check out the work this festival has completed in the past in the majestic atmosphere of the Smokies!

For three days in June this festival consumes the streets of Red Lodge, Montana. With this year about to be the sixth annual production of the festival, it has proved itself by recurring songwriters from across the nation. With 26 performances, 20 songwriters, and 7 venues, this intimate gathering is one that individuals remember while in the mountains of Montana. There are even options to camp out while attending the festival, making it an immersive experience in regards to the music and culture of this event. Tickets are readily, and affordably, available for you to be able to experience this festival this upcoming summer.
