HARDY feat. Lainey Wilson "Wait In The Truck" Song Review

HARDY has released his brand new single after announcing its release earlier this week. Featuring fellow rising star Lainey Wilson, "Wait In The Truck" will have everyone blasting this soon-to-be hit for weeks and months to come.

The recently crowned Songwriter of the Year by the ACMs Awards never fails to write a song that quickly becomes timeless. Even having written for so many major artists, HARDY is still able to create his own unique sound for himself. His album A Rock was released in 2020 and the conjoining records HIXTAPE, Vol. 1 and HIXTAPE: Vol. 2 have certainly become fan favorites.

"Wait In The Truck" begins in a subdued way considering his past material. Production-wise, the singers bring a feeling of the old-school country complete with choir acoustics towards the end. The addition of Wilson's signature vocals evokes even more emotion than thought possible.

HARDY's storytelling is on full display in this song. HARDY picks up Wilson in his truck as she needs desperate assistance. "She didn't tell the whole truth / But she didn't have to / I knew what had happened to her /I didn't load her down with questions / That girl had been through enough / I just threw it in drive and looked in those eyes / And asked her where he was." Through powerful lyrics, the singer's shed light on domestic violence, a topic that rarely receives its needed attention, and the impact of a helping hand.
