Home Free ‘Land of the Free’ Album Review

All vocal super group, Home Free have just released a tribute album to America and the people who live here called Land of the Free, just in time for all of your 4th of July celebrations.

This project continues to allow this all-vocal group’s harmonies shine with covers of some of the best tributes to our nation such as “God Bless the U.S.A” which features original songwriter and artist, Lee Greenwood, “Only In America” made famous by Brooks & Dunn, and even “America (My Country, Tis of Thee)”.

“We’re all going through such challenging times no matter where you are in the world right now, this post-pandemic, we wanted to make music for people that could help bring us together, in a time when our differences and the things out there in the rest of the world have given us all cause to stand back and look at our values and look at each other and try to figure out what matters most,” they tell us on a phone interview. “For us, we really wanted to sow the seed of appreciation for the country that we live in and for the time that we still have together. “

Their thoughtful delivery on the classics as well as putting their own spin on “Undivided” which was recently released by Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, allows their fans to appreciate the song in a different light, while their favorite a capella group sing it.

The original song on the project, “The Land of the Free” was written by Chris Chatham and member, Tim Foust wrote the song over a decade ago. Austin Brown who spoke to The Nash News explained that he heard the song when he first met Tim and has continued to bring it up each and every time they went in to set plans for a new album, and finally it just fit on this record perfectly. “It is now the best platform to share that song, with those poignant ideals in a time and an age like this,” he explains.

Starting this fall, Home Free will re-embark on their headlining DIVE BAR SAINTS WORLD TOUR. Tickets and more information is available at https://homefreemusic.com/
