Ingrid Andress with Sam Hunt “Wishful Drinking” Song Review

On August 2nd, Ingrid Andress thrilled their fans with the release of Andress’ song “Wishful Drinking” featuring Sam Hunt.

Rising Warner Nashville country music singer-songwriter Ingrid Andress was born in Southfield, Michigan. Andress is a skilled songwriter with a degree in songwriting from Berklee College of Music. When she moved to Music City, Andress was writing songs for big names like Charli XCX, Alicia Keys, and Sam Hunt. Andress then broke through onto the country music scene as a singer with her hit debut single “More Hearts Than Mine” which peaked at number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2019 and landed on the top five of the American and Canadian country charts.

Sensational MCA Nashville singer-songwriter Sam Hunt was born in Cedartown, Georgia, and also started in Music City writing songs for big names. Hunt launched his successful career as a singer with his debut studio album Montevallo that broke multiple chart records and made Hunt the first country artist in 22 years to reach the top of three country charts concurrently.

“I know it’s a shot in the dark. Looking for what’s left of a spark. Throwing ’em back like I got nothing to lose. It’s a slow burn just like you.”

Lying to ourselves is something we all do sometimes when it comes to love. Andress’ unique charm and sultry jazz vibe pair perfectly with the hopeful desperation of the lyrics.

“It’s 100 proof, nothing I won’t do, for another round of me and you. I’m wishful drinking.”

“Wishful Drinking” is an ideal country track to listen to when you’re struggling with a big relationship decision.
