Julie Eddy "On My Way To You" Song Review

Julie Eddy has already released three singles this year and is back at it again. As a teaser to her new EP coming out in January of 2023, her brand new track “On My Way To You” is preparing fans for what's to come.

Co-written with Aubrey Toone and Chris Love, it’s evident that this team of songwriters share a collective talent of being able to expertly create a descriptive story that allows the listener to feel a part of it. With Eddy’s powerhouse vocals, it’s easy to feel that carefree, adventurous spirit in the song. She starts with the picturesque lines, “I was going 95, southbound on my way to you / With a golden sunrise / Drowning out my rearview.” Immediately, listeners can’t help but feel drawn into this story and feel a part of it; it does a fantastic job of building as it goes on and ends with Eddy singing acapella, allowing her to show off the range of her voice.

South Dakota is where Eddy calls home, but she has been in Nashville since 2021. Since being in Nashville, she has had the opportunity to play at some legendary venues around the city such as The Basement, The Listening Room Cafe, The Local, Tin Roof, and more. Not only that, but some of her largest shows include opening for Justin Moore, Granger Smith, Brett Young, Sam Hunt, Dan + Shay, and more. She has exploded in the pop country industry and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

Unique but relatable, Eddy gives listeners the chance to get to know different sides of her. She doesn’t shy away from any topic and brings people in with her infectious energy. Already making a name for herself and working with legendary songwriters, producers, and fellow artists, it will be exciting to follow her journey.
