Kelsea Ballerini Lights Up CMT Storytellers

Country superstar Kelsea Ballerini is the latest act to host a CMT Storytellers segment. Her special also marks the first female artist to headline the Storytellers series. The singer-songwriter played tracks from every era of her career thus far and told fans what inspired some of her biggest hits.

Performing in front of a dreamy background with hanging flowers and string lights, Ballerini pumped up the crowd with"Miss Me More" and slowed it down with tracks like "homecoming queen," "Peter Pan," and "half of my hometown."

Off of her 2022 record SUBJECT TO CHANGE she sang the grammy-nominated "HEARTFIRST" as well as the light-hearted confessional "DOIN' MY BEST" while prancing around and interacting with the crowd. In between tracks, she mentioned to the intimate crowd, “Songwriting is my therapy, my haven, my best friend, and my exhale. It’s the purest part of what I do, and I am grateful to join a lineup of storytellers I’ve learned from as I tell mine."

The highlight of the show came when Ballerini performed one of her brand new songs titled "Leave Me Again," a track she wrote on her own that was just released on her surprise EP Rolling Up the Welcome Mat. She discussed its meaning by sharing, "It's the song where you finally go, 'I'm not mad anymore. I don't even know if I'm sad anymore. I think I just want well for everyone.'"

This specific performance featured just Ballerini and her guitar; proving that her words and her instrument create the most beautiful and moving moments.
