Kelsey Lamb "Happy Hour Sad" Song Review

Rising singer-songwriter Kelsey Lamb is ready for her fans to hear new music. She has released her new song "Happy Hour Sad," which happens to be on her debut EP of the same name, which also came out today.

Hailing from Arkansas, Lamb continuously releases songs that can become everyone's favorite find. Lamb had previously released the other songs from the new EP, including "Heartbreak Away" and "In Between Time." The singer has a way of incorporating messages and lyrics that are relatable to anyone who listens. A song like "Too Much History" embodies the kind of lyricism that takes people back to seeing an ex. Lamb is certainly on her to new heights in Nashville.

With a strikingly clever title, "Happy Hour Sad" is all about trying to keep one's mind off of the hurt. Even with a good time happening, memories and emotions can't seem to help themselves. Lamb exclaims, "I bought tequila and soda / To get me closer to getting over what we had / Still I'm sitting here, happy hour sad." Despite the sad subject matter, there's a country-pop sound that works in Lamb's favor and masks the pain in her lyricism. Even as she sings about wanting a distraction from sadness, it's hard not to sing along.
