Lady A “Where Would I Be” Song Review

The multi-platinum band, Lady A, will be releasing their eighth studio album, WHAT A SONG CAN DO on October 22nd. The 14 track project is a love letter from the band to anyone who listens, lyrically created to emphasize on the power behind music and how it carries us through. “We’ve rediscovered our purpose, and it’s to entertain and spread a positive message – I really truly believe that.” One of the band members said in a press release. “I want our legacy to be songs that make people feel good.”

Last Friday, August 20th, the trio dropped a teaser from the unreleased project titled “Where Would I Be”. This new track, number eight on the full 14-song collection, has a tenderhearted acoustic sound behind it, with a heartfelt message from beginning to end. The band set out with a purpose in mind and delivered it greatly within this one song, certainly making fans eager to hear the full project.

Everybody has a story and although they all differ from each other, they’re all similar in at least one way. Everything you once did, accident or not, led you to where you are now. You don’t realize it until you sit back and listen to a song like “Where Would I Be”, reminding you that if certain things didn’t happen the way they did, you wouldn’t be where you are now, with who you’re with.

“Where would I be / If I hadn’t spent that summer waiting tables in my home town? / Oh where, where would I be / If I hadn’t spilled your drink and you never asked me out / Would I even know the magic of something meant to be?”

If you can listen to this song and smile thinking about someone and the path you took that led you there, that someone is a keeper.

“If you ever left, I’d never make it one day on my own / ‘Cause, baby, no one knows me like you do / You’re the one thing in this world that I can’t lose / Where would I be without your loving?’
