Laine Hardy “Authentic” Song Review

Rising country music artist Laine Hardy was born and raised in Louisiana. At 14, he was in the Band Handy band with his brothers and cousins and went on to win season 17 of American Idol in 2019. Hardy’s 2020 virtual tour Ground I Grew Up On made over 20 online stops with over 2 million views. Hardy will be on the road this summer headlining the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour and will make his Grand Old Opry debut on August 28th. His growing, loyal fanbase is now buzzing in anticipation of his latest new release “Authentic” dropping on July 23.

“Authentic’s” start is classic, country twang that is eventually roughed up with some electric rock edge. Hardy’s impressive husky, traditional country voice is on full display delivering this ode to the authentic country boy and country way of life.

“Well it’s who we are, it’s what we do. The way the good Lord meant it. It’s in the blood, tires in the mud, it’s just the life that we’re living. It’s tried and true can’t buy it new. If you think you can you don’t get it. If it burns your lips when you take a sip, you’re gonna know that it’s authentic.”

Authentic country living is not something you can buy or simulate, it’s something you’re born with. Real country boys are “born and raised, custom made, authentic.” God-loving, hard-booze drinking, dirt on your old boots country boys are celebrated on this catchy, gritty track that pays homage to country roots.

“These old boots might look worn out, but they’re just getting broke in. We’re living proof of those country songs, down-home and we know it.”
