Lainey Wilson "Heart Like A Truck" Song Review

ACM New Female Artist of the Year winner Lainey Wilson has released her brand new single "Heart Like A Truck." The accompanying music video is also available for viewing.

Wilson is fresh off of her second No. 1 song with Cole Swindell titled "Never Say Never." The track reigned supreme on country radio for two consecutive weeks. Of course, the singer-songwriter rose to fame last year with her hit single "Things A Man Oughta Know." It earned Wilson the ACM Award for Song of the Year. She has built up a reputation for honest lyrics and exuding her southern charm. Wilson has toured with Morgan Wallen and Jason Aldean, and this summer she will embark on the 'Ain't Always The Cowboy Tour' with Jon Pardi.

"Heart Like A Truck" is a song that has Wilson's personality all over it. There is a sense of growth in her sound while simultaneously feeling like a continuation of her album Saying' What I'm Thinking. This mid-tempo track speaks to the kind of down-home country music Wilson aims to make.

"I never stay in one place too long, the dirt road's singing me a siren song, I gotta find a field, I need to spin my wheels," sings Wilson as she touches on how she stays true to her roots and is always going to march to the beat of her own drum. It's the kind of song that feels empowering like "My Church" by Maren Morris. If there is a guarantee about Wilson, she will always bring authenticity.
