Matthew Wayne "Wrong Side Of The Bed" Song Review
Ahead of his upcoming debut project, Matthew Wayne has released a brand new single. "Wrong Side Of The Bed" is bound to get fans excited for even more new music.
Since May 2022, Matthew has released six singles and has received over half a million streams across platforms. He has also been featured on various editorial Spotify playlists, including “Fresh Finds Country” and “New Music Friday Country.” Inspired by the movie "That Thing You Do," he quickly became a multi-instrumentalist, mastering the drums, piano, guitar, bass, and singing. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Joey Fatone from NSYNC and Boyz II Men.
“This song was special from top to bottom. From the first time I heard it, I couldn’t get my mind off of it. It was so hard to get the opportunity to cut this song and when I did I put everything I could into it. The vibe in the studio the day we cut it had that magical feeling and when I went to do vocals for it, I took care with every word,” shares Wayne via a press release. The track is a slow jam that allows for Wayne's vocals and melodies to truly shine.
"Wong Side Of The Bed" has a quite literal message. He sings from the perspective of someone who doesn't want to talk or fight, and just wants to accept things aren't going his way. He knows that the person he loves isn't coming back, yet has the courage to admit he misses the empty space she left. "She still smells like sweet red roses / Taking me back to those moments / She was still where she's supposed to be." This is a song that many can relate to, where the longing just feels all too consuming.
