On The Verge: 3 New Country Releases
As every Friday passes, numerous songs come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "God's Hotel" by Peytan Porter
Porter has released a brand new song to show everyone what she's been up to in the studio. Since releasing her debut EP in 2022, the singer has found a way to connect with listeners through her lyrics. This song comes from a humble realization about what Heaven could be. Porter sings with such honesty that one can't help but sing along. It's a perfect re-introduction for this promising newcomer.
2. "Earned It" by Larry Fleet
This song is just one of the four songs Fleet released. He is eager to share all of the new music he has been working on. This particular track is a country song in the purest and most old-fashioned form. He sings about how hard work can pay off in the end. It certainly seems like Fleet is at peace with where he is in life, and he wants others to feel that way as well.
3. "Talk Of The Town" by Abbey Cone
This song is meant to make a statement, and Cone succeeded. There is a depth and realness to the song that makes it special. Her voice feels like it was made to sing these lyrics. The track is about not being what other people expect, and how that can be a good thing. Cone's song is empowering and breathtaking.
