On The Verge: 4 More New Country Releases
As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "Smoke Too Soon" by Carter Faith
Faith is one of the most exciting, and promising, new talents coming out of Nashville. Her sense of style and sound breathes new life into the genre for a new generation. Her latest release is an unapologetic take on what happens after a breakup. Instead of feeling devastated, Faith sings about owning that it's what's best. She lets every woman out there know that it's never okay to dull someone's fire.
2. "Low Life" by Pillbox Patti
This singer-songwriter has certainly outdone herself with her new song. Not only is her voice breathtaking on this track, but the lyrics offer a look at what drug addiction can be like. Patti sings from the perspective of someone who is involved with someone with inner demons. There is a pop quality to the song that works in her favor, all while remaining country at heart.
3. "when we were friends" by Alana Springsteen
Springsteen delivers the perfect sone for someone grieving the loss of a friendship. Even if so much time has passed, it's normal to miss a certain part of one's life, and the people who were used to be around. This song is honest and full of growth. Life can take people in different directions, but the memories will always remain.
4. "Merigold" by Gabe Lee
This song is likened to the style of Zach Bryan that everyone is bound to love. It feels like a Western folk song that can draw emotion from the first instrumental. Even when times are tough, there is always light to be found. One must embrace all parts of life, and the lyrics offer a sense of comfort.
