Parker McCollum "Handle On You" Song Review
Singer-songwriter Parker McCollum released a brand new song titled "Handle On You" after teasing fans he had new music coming. Always one to keep it authentic, this song is another example of why McCollum will have a long career ahead of him.
McCollum is the reigning ACM winner for New Male Artist of the Year. Since the very beginning, he has found a way to fuse today's country sound with the genre's roots. His debut album Gold Chain Cowboy proved that he intends to make his own mark. The proud Texas native is a lover - and student - of classic country music. As evident from the cover art of this new single, he intends to throw it back to a more nostalgic time.
"I know I have written quite a few songs about heartbreak and drinking, so here's another one," McCollum wrote on Instagram. That statement was surely meant to seem humble, as this is not just another song. "I went and got the biggest bottle they got cause you're gone / Drop a needle on a vinyl and cry to an old Haggard song / Sittin' at the table, baby breakin, the seal / Gonna see how much of this pain I can kill / I went and bought the biggest bottle they got cause you're gone."
This new release contains everything fans love about the singer: raw lyrics, guitar riffs, and his signature vocals. "Handle On You" could be the heartache touchstone for a new generation. Every song McCollum writes is relatable as well as catchy; his voice has a way of doing that.
