Renee Blair "SPF Me" Song Review

Renee Blair has released a brand new single titled "SPF Me." The Missouri native is a rising force in Nashville that fans should continue to take notice of.

Blair's songwriting and style reflect the inspiration she was brought up with. Per her website, the singer especially loved Justin Timberlake, The Chicks, and Nelly: clearly a wide variety of influences. Since the age of 15, she has been living in Nashville writing songs, and since then Blair has worked with Grammy-winning producer Shane McAnally and CMA winner Jordan Schmidt. Her debut full-length album Seventeen was released just last year.

"SPF Me" is a spirited song perfect for the summery season. Wishing you could be alone with someone is what Blair yearns for. As the quirky title hints, she wants nothing more than to be close enough to put on some SPF. After just a singular listen, you'll be ready to hit the waves and feel the sun on your skin.

Blair's voice often feels like a conversation with a friend, and that certainly holds true on this track. This song has a ring of country pop that Blair enjoys making. It feels light and free with every line she sings. "Might be the sun, might be you / Just might be a combination of the two / It's making me high, burning so good / It's got me wishing you would, SPF me." This song is a great choice when wanting to hear about young love.
