Scotty McCreery Chats Becoming a Dad and His Hit "Damn Strait"

At Country Jam USA 2022 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, The Nash News got to chat with country star Scotty McCreery before his set at the summer festival.

McCreery's fans showed up for his set. Numerous McCreery t-shirts were seen throughout the crowds of people at Country Jam. McCreery discussed his excitement for the festival atmosphere stating, "These are the fun ones. This is what you look forward to during the winter." During his performance, he pulled out fan favorites like "Five More Minutes," "This Is It," and "You Time." He also covered the classic George Strait tune, "Check Yes Or No."

Speaking of the King of Country, McCreery's latest number one hit, "Damn Strait," named after the icon, has been at the top of country radio charts for two weeks in a row after climbing the ranks for weeks. "This song's felt different from the get-go," he exclaimed with racing passion. "I'm a massive George Strait fan; he was my very first concert. So, to have a song that's like a tribute to him, at the same time being a classic heartbreak song, it's pretty cool."
