Songs I Grew Up On with Travis Denning

Travis Denning is a gifted singer-songwriter who has been successful in Nashville for quite a few years. His song "After A Few" shot to No. 1 on country radio which introduced him to a whole new audience. Denning's latest EP Might As Well Be Me was released in 2022. The Georgia native shared the three songs he grew up listening to, and there will be familiar favorites.

1. "Statesboro Blues" by The Allman Brothers Band

"I've never heard a band swing as hard as they did," says Denning. He credits that song, as well as the band, for making him realize the passion he had for music. The guitar riffs as well as the lyrics drew him into what the band was all about.

2. "Sunday In The South" by Shenandoah

This song in particular always reminds Denning of home. The singer often looks for feelings and reminders of his home state, and this track certainly gives that. He went on to say that that song still inspires him when he writes his own music today.

3. "Days Go By" by Keith Urban

"I'd say that kind of song, and that era, are a big inspiration to the kind of music I'm making now," shares Denning. The mid-2000s country sound is what he has always been drawn to the most. He noted this Urban track might be "one of the all-time greats."
