The CMAs Honor Alan Jackson at the 2022 Ceremony

The 2022 Country Music Awards honored Alan Jackson with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. With the award, numerous country artists came together to perform his greatest hits.

The tribute began with kind words from Carrie Underwood: “His powerful voice speaks to us about hope and heartache, about fun and friendship, about tragedy and triumph, about life, and a little ‘bout love.”

The first song was Jackson’s famous “Chattahoochee” performed by Dierks Bentley. This opening song got the audience pumped up for the rest of the great night. Next, Jon Pardi performed “Drive (For Daddy Gene)." Pardi’s voice fit perfectly for the song Jackson dedicated to his father, Eugene Jackson.

Then, one of country music's brightest new stars Lainey Wilson sang “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow." Her version rallied the fans of genuine country music.

To keep the excitement going, Alan Jackson himself sang “Don’t Rock The Jukebox." After his performance, he gave a heartwarming speech on his love for country music and how it “has always been good to me.” People in the crowd looked towards the icon with starry eyes, proving no one has shaped the genre quite like he has.
