Tyler Hubbard Self-Titled Album Review

Tyler Hubbard is stepping into a chapter with his debut solo album, Tyler Hubbard. The self-titled record looks to show a more personal side to a beloved member of country music. No longer tied to Florida Georgia Line, Hubbard is ready to give fans more of himself.

The nine song album contains previously released tracks "Dancin' In The Country," "Me For Me," "35's," and "5 Foot 9." "5 Foot 9" has become an instant hit, not surprising given the energy behind the song. This album displays the same Hubbard everyone has known and loved, but here, his true personality is able to shine.

"Tough" proves to be the inspirational song on the project. "Whatever don't kill you makes you tough," declares Hubbard. That sentiment can resonate with anyone who listens. Even the production of the song calls for reflection. No matter the situation, real strength is found when life doesn't go someone's way. Hubbard is there to remind fans that they can get through anything.

It wouldn't be a Hubbard album without the love songs. "She Can" represents the admiration one can have for their significant other. Hubbard has long written about the love he has for his wife Hailey, so this song was undoubtedly inspired by her. "Inside And Out" is also an ode to finding true love. The melody that carries is enough to sweep anyone off of their feet.

"Small Town Me" seems to sum up this body of work. Hubbard is an artist who writes and sings about what he knows. This particular track showcases his love for small-town living, which is how he grew up. "Small town me ain't scared to work / And get my hands down in the dirt / And it don't matter where I am / I'll always be, small town me."
