After making a name for himself on American Idol, this North Carolina native has five albums and one on the way. Scotty McCreery has truly made a name for himself with five back-to-back number 1 hits. In honor of Scotty McCreery's birthday, here are five songs by the sing-songwriter we know audiences will love.
1. "The Dash"
“The Dash” is on McCreery’s album entitled See You Tonight. This is not one of the country artists' familiar songs; the track pays a tribute to the men and women in uniform. McCreery is very open about his support to all those who serve, so it's not shocking that he would pay tribute the best way he knows how to: through song. When he played it live at the National Day Memorial Concert last year, he had the entire stadium in tears.
2. "Better Than That"
Off McCreery’s debut album, the upbeat, fun song everyone should take a second to put on their speakers is “Better Than That.” From the beat to the drums, to the lyrics this song will have you up on your feet the second you hear it.
3. "Still"
The album Seasons Change has a lot of hits on it from “Five More Minutes” to “Boys From Back Home,” but have you sat down and listened to “Still?” This love song will have you in your feelings from the first lines. “Remember when I told you you were mine, all mine? / I couldn't get you, baby, off my mind / It was young love, not a fling / Me and you, we were the real thing / Remember when I told you we should take a drive / You didn't know but I had butterflies / 'Cause I knew then, leaning in / Baby I was never looking back again.”
4. "Carolina To Me"
The Ode to his home state “Carolina To Me” was co-written by Taylor Phillips and Jeremy Bussey. In the lyrics, McCreery talks about his faith, childhood memories, and the beautiful views the state has to offer. This stunning ballad dedicated to his home will have the listeners feeling as if they are right there growing up with him.
5. "Amazed"
This track is an oldie but a goodie. Although “Amazed” is not originally McCreery’s song, his rendition on American Idol was some of the best watchers have seen.
