You're Invited To: The Nash News' 12th On The Verge Writer's Round
The Nash News is excited to present our 12th writer's round with independent and up-and-coming country artists this coming Thursday, December 29th from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Nashville at Assembly Food Hall in the Fifth and Broad complex.
Artists performing include Maura Streppa, Zach Stone, Sasha McVeigh, Casi Joy, Allie Keck, Nicole Miller, Morgan Johnston, Raleigh Keegan, and Mark Taylor.

Maura Streppa
There is a place where country meets soul meets pop. That sweet spot exists in the heart of singer/songwriter, Maura Streppa. Heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, John Prine, Lowell George, Levon Helm, Amy Winehouse, Kacey Musgraves, and more, Maura uniquely and effortlessly creates a home for lovers of the old and the new alike.
Zach Stone
Zach Stone is a dynamic performer who makes an immediate and memorable first impression; the 27-year-old exudes a magnetic humility that casually and comfortably translates his charismatic personality. With quiet impact and unsuspecting power, his modest confidence and subtle sex appeal make Stone every guy’s trusted friend and every woman’s wildest dream. The native Texan, and now Nashville resident, is making his mark.
Sasha McVeigh
Sasha McVeigh was born to be on the stage. Over the years the Nashville-based, British singer/songwriter has amassed over one million streams across platforms and has performed on the main stage of some of the most prominent country music festivals, alongside artists like Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, and Eric Church. With a live show that will captivate any audience and a powerful voice that sings with genuine, soul-wrenching emotion, Sasha is making an impact and building a foundation on which she is establishing herself as a country music star.
Casi Joy
With over 40 million video views online and 350,000 followers, Joy has captured the attention of music fans around the globe who appreciate the way she melds traditional country and modern pop influences. A seasoned performer, her impressive social media presence eventually led to a highly-touted run on NBC's The Voice, where she instantly turned all four chairs and was singled out by Rolling Stone as having one of the top 10 best blind auditions of all time. Following her time on The Voice, Casi released her highly anticipated, sophomore EP "The Bright Side,” which debuted at #19 on the iTunes Country Album Charts. Following that success, she released singles "The Money," "Namaste," and "Senses Fail," which received an overwhelming response including premieres and features with People Magazine, CMT, Academy of Country Music, Taste of Country, and Sounds Like Nashville.
Allie Keck
Singer-songwriter Allie Keck is originally from central Illinois and has been in Nashville for 6 years. Her most recent single "Not Your Problem" was released in April 2022.
Nicole Miller
Nicole Miller is a pop-country artist from West Des Moines, Iowa. Miller is part of ASCAP's GPS class of 2021, as well as an NSAI Fresh Finds pick. She looks forward to following her debut EP, Lonely on the Weekend with some new music this year.
Morgan Johnston
Massachusetts native Morgan Johnston has been releasing original songs since 2018. In 2021, she added to her catalog by putting out tracks "Just in Case" and "Pity Party." Last year, Johnston was nominated by the Boston Music Awards for Country Artist of the Year. She also got to perform alongside Dustin Lynch at The Music Circus in her hometown.
