You're Invited To: The Nash News' Fifith Girls Night Out Writer's Round

The Nash News is excited to announce we will be holding our fifth Girls Night Out Writer's Round at Assembly Food Hall at the Fifth + Broadway complex in downtown Nashville on Thursday, July 21st from 7-10 p.m. The round will feature performances from Maura Streppa, Rachel LaRen, Brennley Brown, JOSEY, Mallory Johnson, Nora Collina, Mignon, Taylon Hope, and Jaclyn Kenyon.

Maura Streppa

here is a place where country meets soul meets pop. That sweet spot exists in the heart of singer/songwriter, Maura Streppa. Heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, John Prine, Lowell George, Levon Helm, Amy Winehouse, Kacey Musgraves, and more, Maura uniquely and effortlessly creates a home for lovers of the old and the new alike.


Rachel LaRen

Rachel LaRen is a singer-songwriter originally from East Texas but has resided in Nashville for 3 years. LaRen has played at many prominent venues, such as the listening room, and has just released her highly anticipated debut EP “Cowboys Don’t Change." LaRen’s style can be described as whimsical western and prides herself on being a songwriter first.


Brennley Brown

Growing up on a ranch in Apple Valley, California, Brown was fed a steady diet of traditional country sounds by her father before she started making music herself. You may have seen her as a finalist on season 12 of NBC’s The Voice or heard her voiceover work in the latest Dragons: Rescue Riders Dreamworks series on Netflix. Please welcome Brennley Brown.


JOSEY

Josey is a soul-pop artist from Houston, Texas. She was crowned the winner of the talent competition "The Fame Chicago" in 2016. After graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2017, Josey moved to Nashville, to further pursue her artist and songwriting career. Her talents have led her to perform at numerous venues such as The Chicago Theatre, The Metro, The Listening Room, Exit/IN, The Bedford, and House Of Blues. Josey has also performed with gifted songwriters /musicians such as Carrie Underwood, Diane Warren, Corey Henry, and Shawn Mullins. She strives to create a unique balance of soul, pop, and alternative r&b. Josey sings to express, not impress. Her songwriting focuses on self-love and the obstacles she has faced as an underdog and overcoming them. Including the struggles and success that come with life, relationships, and growing up. With her eclectic sound, soaring vocals and compelling lyrics Josey is creating her own path within music.


Mallory Johnson

SiriusXM Top of the Country Semi-Finalist Mallory Johnson hails from Newfoundland, Canada. Her most recent collaboration with West Coast duo Twin Kennedy called “Wise Woman” and ‘Wise Woman – the Show’ garnered the 2021 MusicNL Video of the Year, a 2022 ECMA nomination for Video of the year, and a 2021 CCMA nomination for the Live Innovation award. Mallory is currently working on a full-length album with Grammy-nominated producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton).


Nora Collins

Nora Collins is a singer/songwriter from Milwaukee, WI. She made the move down to Nashville after signing a publishing and artist development deal. She brings a confident and youthful originality to country music – a style she describes as “fun, flirty, relatable and honest.”


Mignon

With her unique family name, passionate song lyrics, and powerful voice, Texas-native songwriter Mignon has created a fresh, authentic take on the Country genre. She has shared the stage with artists such as Brad Paisley, Chris Young, The Jonas Brothers, JoJo, Rodney Crowell, and more. She was named winner of Texas SongwriterU in 2019, and more recently was featured as a Top 40 contestant on the 2021 season of ABC’s American Idol.


Taylon Hope

Taylon Hope is a singer, songwriter, musician from West Jefferson, NC, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and now makes her home in Music City, Nashville, TN. She began singing at the young age of four years old and music has been her passion ever since. She loves singing and performing and making a difference to others through her music. Her musical influences include Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, among others. Taylon has a love for both traditional and modern Country Music and has a great appreciation for all kinds of music. Taylon Hope values her roots and believes in being who you are and country is who she is!


Jaclyn Kenyon

Jaclyn Kenyon is a Singer-Songwriter from Toronto, Canada and is now a full-time transplant in Nashville. Jaclyn's music has been featured on CMT as " Artist To Watch" For her songs " When We Love" & "Me & Tennessee". She is currently working on her new EP coming out later this year.
