Kelsey Lamb "In Between Time" Song Review

Kelsey Lamb has written empowering track after track as a self-proclaimed sad-songwriter, and “In Between Time” is no different. Every element of this song helps create the perfect pop-country blend that fans have wanted.

The arrangement in this tune is one of the key ways the emotions of this song are communicated. For most of the song, there is only an acoustic guitar and Lamb’s voice. The stripped-down instrumentation of these choruses allows the verses to shine lyrically. Tension is built in the choruses when the accenting guitar and sparing drum parts are added to help fill out the sound. The contrast between these two sections makes the tune that much more impactful.

The lyrics written for “In Between Time” appeal to any listener who has ever experienced a heartbreak. Healing after a breakup takes time, and Lamb effectively communicates that in her song.
