Bailey Zimmerman "Never Leave" Song Review

With so many rising talents in the country music scene, Bailey Zimmerman always finds a way to stand out from the rest. Zimmerman released his new song "Never Leave" after telling fans on social media he didn't want to wait till Friday.

It was only a few weeks ago that the singer released the angsty break-up song "Where It Ends." Zimmerman is never one to disappoint his loyal following. He frequently posts snippets of new music and loves to interact directly with his fans, especially on TikTok where he has over 1.6 million followers. Previous tracks like "Rock And A Hard Place" and "Fall In Love" have garnered attention from critics and fans alike. Zimmerman proves time and again that he should be on every watch list.

"Never Leave" differs in sound from his past releases. This song takes on the form of a ballad, and not a rock-heavy infused production style. Zimmerman's vocals also work to set him apart from his peers. Calling his voice dynamic doesn't seem to do it justice; it has a rusty growling quality that feels warm yet hard-hitting. He continues to use his uniqueness to his advantage.

Instead of seeking vengeance or airing out grievances, Zimmerman sings about the desire to make things work at all costs. The lyrics come from a place of pain, a theme for most of his songs. Love can be a complex feeling with twists and turns. Zimmerman asks his love interest not to walk away from him. "Let's put love back in its place / I won't give up on you / So darlin' don't give up on me / Don't you wanna stay / Don't just walk away from our memories."

Following the release of "Never Leave," Zimmerman also revealed his debut EP Leave The Light On will be released on October 14th. The project will house previous singles as well as five brand-new tracks.
