Old Dominion "Memory Lane" Song Review

The reigning ACM and CMA Group of the Year are back with brand new music. As the band releases "Memory Lane," could a new album be on the horizon?

Old Dominion has become synonymous with hit songs. Comprised of Matt Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung, and Brad Tursi, the group has long held a place in the heart of fans. Their debut single "Break Up With Him" was released in 2015, and ever since then, the band has continued to stay true to their artistic roots. The group's sound does not shy away from experimenting either. Old Dominion is simply in a class of their own.

The new track simply does feel like a trip down "Memory Lane." Ramsey begins by singing the lines, "If i could buy a house on memory lane / I'd put my money down and I'd sign my name / On that little corner lot, where it don't ever rain." It's clear from the start that they're longing for a place that feels comfortable and familiar. To be in a place where memories are all around them is a theme many people can relate to when the world feels a bit of a mess.

Like the majority of their music catalog, there is an easygoing nature to the new song. "Memory Lane" feels as effortless as the songs found on their most recent album, Time, Tequila, and Therapy. The band always seems to write songs that set them apart from their peers. If they continue to venture with this sound, new music will be highly anticipated.
