On The Verge: 4 New Country Releases
As every Friday passes, numerous songs come out from up-and-coming country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "Ain't About You" by HunterGirl
This new release from HunterGirl is vulnerable and heartfelt. The subdued style shows off her vocals unlike ever before. Her raw and natural talent cannot be overlooked. As she sings about societal pressures on young women, it's clear this song is truly special. The singer speaks directly to fans who might need some encouragement or reassurance that they are more than enough.
2. "Roll Tide Roll" by Restless Road
The trio has delivered a song for all the broken-hearted college kids out there. With mentions of the University of Alabama, it's clear this song has a target audience. Together, the guys sound believable when singing about heartache. The harmony between them always makes them a standout group. They have a new album coming out in October, so there is more music on the horizon.
3. Blood Harmony by O.N.E The Duo
The mother-daughter duo aims to make their mark with the release of their debut album. Soulful party songs as well as heartwarming messages make this a record to listen to. They incorporate a variety of genres into their sound, which can practically appeal to everyone. Their music on this project shows the star quality they naturally possess.
4. "Caught in the Current" by Charles Walker
Walker brings an indie-rock vibe to his latest song paired with a slight twang. From the beginning, it feels as though it could've been featured in an early 2000s movie about young angst. The song touches on feeling overwhelmed in today's world. Walker sums up what many might feel when life seems to be rolling too far ahead of them.
