On The Verge: 4 New Country Releases
As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "Who's Lyin Here" by Parker Graye
Graye brings together an old and new country sound with her latest release. The ballad feels like it could be the last song played at a bar for two people to slow dance. Graye sings about the internal struggle that lies within a couple where strong feelings are abundant. Her voice effortlessly soars through every line, making it a captivating listen.
2. "After All" by Logan Crosby
Crosby's deep vocals sing over a song about growing up. He sings about being on the wild side of life, only to realize that it isn't what he wants anymore. Self-realization is at the heart of this track, and it feels just right being sung by Crosby. The perspective he sings from is seeing the woman he loves as all that he wants, not another neon night.
3. "Tell Your Mother I'm Fine" by Jordyn Shellhart
Shellhart delivers yet another emotive song. She sings about what it's like to still carry fond feelings for someone you're no longer with, in particular for that person's mother. The lyrics act as a letter to show how she has moved on with her life. Shellhart is enjoying her new-found freedom and wants everyone to know it.
4. "Shoulder To Cry On" by Alana Springsteen
Springsteen gives the most honest take on what it's like to have to fake happiness for someone you have feelings for. What can be more relatable to young women than that? Springsteen always finds a way to sing what so many of her fans feel. There is an element of pop and angst in this song that works in her favor.
