On The Verge: 5 New Country Releases

As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.

1. "Fix You Too" by Megan Moroney

This song from Moroney is straight from the heart. It truly highlights the beauty of songwriting from the most vulnerable place. The track is about realizing you need to work on yourself and that you can't fix the person you love at the same time. Women, in general, often feel the responsibility of holding everything together. Moroney's song feels exactly like what women are feeling, but couldn't find the words to say.

2. "Hear About a Girl" by Dalton Dover

Dalton Dover delivers a melodious song worthy of a listen. It's about the feeling everyone gets when you meet someone so special they are hard to forget. The first verse seems like this is a love song for the ages, but the chorus tells what happens when that person becomes the one that got away. Dover's voice is smooth and effortless, which takes the song to another level.

3. Every Girl by Halle Kearns

The singer-songwriter delivered an impressive body of work over the weekend. She has the kind of voice that feels comforting to listen to. The title track especially showcases the growth she feels she's had. "If you wanna know the woman that I am, you gotta meet every girl i've ever been." Another stand-out track is "Are You Okay?" It's pure in its sound and feels like a window into her soul.

4. "Reverse" by Andrea Vasquez

Rich and soulful are the words to describe the voice of Andrea Vasquez. On this track, she belts out the sounds of heartache. She sings about wanting to go back and change how a relationship ended, something that is very relatable. It's an honest look at how regret can be consuming if you let it.

5. "Rodeo" by Charly Reynolds

Charly Reynolds has the perfect track for a fun and flirty mood. When she sings, "This ain't my first rodeo," it's easy to tell she means it. The song could be great for listening to with friends, or a long drive by yourself. Reynolds should have a great time performing this one for a live show.
